SEMH Teaching Assistant Required - Immediate StartLocation: Runcorn | Contract: Full-time, Long-term

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Runcorn. This full-time, long-term role is available immediately and offers an oppportunity to obtain a permanent contract within the school.

The Role:

  • Provide one-to-one support for a pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Implement strategies to help this student manage their emotions and behaviour effectively.
  • Differentiate, ensuring that the learning content is accessible for the student.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting resilience and self-confidence.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children with SEMH needs, ideally in a primary school setting.
  • A calm, patient, and nurturing approach to working with children.
  • Understanding of de-escalation techniques and behaviour management strategies.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are advantageous but not essential.
  • DBS certificate (on the update service) or willingness to obtain one.
