  • Candidates should have extensive mechanical maintenance knowledge in the process or power plants industry, along with experience in Outage Management and managing contractors to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • A minimum of HNC in engineering, IOSH or equivalent safety qualification, and strong communication skills are required, with an emphasis on a no-compromise approach to health and safety legislation.
  • The position offers a salary of £55,614.00 plus an annual bonus, pension scheme up to 7% match, profit share scheme, salary sacrifice EV car scheme, and hybrid working options.

H9 Technical Recruitment are partnered with one the UK's leading Energy & Waste clients to identify an expeinced Outage Engineer, this will be based in the Northwest but have national travel across their fleet of facilities in the UK.

You'll work in collaboration with the Mechanical, C&I and Electrical Engineer to ensure all emergent works are successfully delivered in order to maximise plant availability and ensure Health, Safety, Environmental and Financial targets are met.

  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical maintenance and engineering within the process or power plants industry.
  • Knowledge of pressure parts legislation including inspection, repair methods and steam turbine maintenance and support.
  • Ability to understand the root cause and provide an effective engineering solution.
  • Experience in Outage Management to successfully deliver work packages to deadlines.
  • Computer literate with the ability to analyse data, draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Experience managing contractors to deliver agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
  • Effective team working, encouraging and motivational skills.
  • Experience in working within Permit to Work and Safe System of Work environments i.e. plant isolations and safety systems.
  • Experience in working with Preventative Maintenance Systems and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Knowledge of the creation of detailed scopes of work / Engineering Specifications ready to be sent out to tender.
  • A demonstrable no-compromise approach to Health & Safety legislation ideally relevant to process or power industry.
  • Possess Engineering qualifications with a minimum of HNC.
  • IOSH or equivalent safety qualification.
  • Good communication and report writing skills.
  • Exposure to an energy from waste (EfW) facility/power stations and knowledge of the process would be advantageous and preferred.
  • Ability to travel to other sites during outage.
