Mechanical Fitter - Runcorn

Up to ÂŁ40K basic + overtime, bonus, pension & more!

Mon-Fri, 37 hours (On-call 1 week in 4 – don’t worry, we won’t call just to chat.)

About the Job

Love taking things apart and actually putting them back together (correctly)? Got a soft spot for industrial transmissions? Then step right up! We need a Mechanical Fitter to keep things spinning, whirring, and NOT exploding.

Your Mission (Should You Choose to Accept It)

Strip, assess & rebuild transmissions, gearboxes, and other rotating kit (no duct tape allowed).

Use micrometers, internal mics & DTI gauges like a pro.

Visit customer sites to fix things (and maybe impress them with your toolkit).

Follow safety rules—because fire drills are only fun in school.

Write root cause reports (translation: explain why it broke in a way non-engineers understand).

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience fixing all kinds of gears (if you can name them, we’re impressed).
  • Ability to measure things properly (no “looks about right” here).
  • Knows bearing & bore fits, laser alignment and how to read engineering drawings.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (fancy paper that says you know your stuff).
  • A driving licence (sadly, teleportation isn’t an option yet).

If you like big engineering and you cannot lie, hit APPLY NOW before someone else does!
