About the role:
LKAB are looking for an experience Mechanical maintenance engineer to ensure LKAB are delivering high standards of operational efficiency, innovation and continuous improvement.
This role will be instrumental in ensuring that the plant realises its full potential in terms of safety and quality, increasing uptime and reducing breakdowns of machinery, working alongside the performance manager and maintenance supervisor to identify maintenance priorities, fault find and use predictive maintenance methods to ensure maximum plant operation.
You will support both planned and reactive maintenance work and plant improvements and projects throughout the plant, across a variety of machinery and equipment of varying ages and processes, ensuring accurate logs and record are maintained.
About the team:
Based on-site at Runcorn working alongside the Maintenance Supervisor, Performance manager and Engineering team.
Responsibilities & Key work tasks
- Carry out a full range of engineering and maintenance duties for the entire site, diagnosing and resolving faults
- Use predictive maintenance methods and knowledge of machinery and environment to ensure maximum uptime of plant and equipment
- Use of CMMS system to record maintenance and breakdown activities
- Proactive in maintaining, developing and implementing site improvement processes or projects to make the plant safe, deliver site efficiency and performance
- Scheduling work, resources, time and ordering of parts and equipment in line with the maintenance budget
- Executing work to specific Health and Safety, Company and Industry Standards and Regulations to ensure operational excellence, quality and safety and that all maintenance is carried out using Safe Systems of Work
- Support local contractor management processes ensuring they are following Health and Safety Standards
Candidate requirements:
- Time served apprentice.
- BTEC National/NVQ or equivalent
- IOSH preferred
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing Methods and Root Cause Analysis will be advantageous
- Experience of safely maintaining medium to heavy plant (Preferably screening, crushing, milling, dust extractions, mixers, conveyors, pneumatic blowers) with basic skills in machining, welding, pneumatics and hydraulics
- IT Skills particularly Microsoft Office suite.
