Due to team & project growth an opportunity has arisen for a SeniorMechanical Design Engineer to join on a permanent basis.The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for producing innovative design solutions and offering technical assistance throughout the implementation, commissioning, and testing phases of the robotic applications for a diverse range of prominent clients.Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborating within a multidisciplinary team to define, devise, execute, and validate specialized robotic applications.
  • Creating mechanical design blueprints and material lists using the SolidWorks CAD package.
  • Recognizing critical safety areas in designs and addressing them through calculations, proof of concept, and necessary testing.
  • Assisting sales and applications teams by presenting reliable solutions, including innovative concepts, to customers.
  • Taking part in design risk assessments following BS EN 12100-2010 standards and ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and machinery safety laws.
  • Providing guidance and supervision to team members.
  • Assisting the mechanical design manager in enhancing design processes and the overall design team
Key Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a Batchelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years’ experience in the detail design of bespoke machinery; from blank sheets of paper to commissioning and validated system
  • Ability to carry out calculations to support your design.
  • Understanding of machinery regulations and the healthy and safety aspect of machinery design.
  • Knowledge of 3D Cad design.
