Your new company
Hays Recruitment are proud to be supporting one of our Runcorn-based partnership schools as they are looking to recruit a motivated and reliable teaching assistant to support SEN pupils with the EYFS class. This is a single-form entry primary school that may extend this full-time temporary contract to a permanent contract for the right individual.

Your new role
In your new role as an EYFS Teaching Assistant within this school you will be working alongside two other teaching assistants to support 5 SEN pupils as well as the whole class. The pupils with SEN do range in complexity but do have a dual diagnosis of ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder) and non-verbal. When supporting thesee students will will ensure that all activities are inclusive and accessible by taking a pupil-centred approach to learning and aid in the development of their speech and language through the use of phonics and integrate them into the wider classroom. These pupils do also require intimate care as they are in nappies. Whilst supporting the whole class you will offer phonics sessions and assessments on a 1:1 and small group basis, as well as support the class teacher with general classroom and behaviour management.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as recent referenceable experience supporting children and young people, as well as:

  • Be able to commit to a full-time contract
  • Ideally have experience with or willingness to work with SEN
  • Be comfortable with intimate care i.e., nappy changing
  • Previous experience with complex SEN is advantageous but not essential
