Your new companyHays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a Runcorn-based single-form entry primary school as they are looking to appoint a motivated and reliable teaching assistant to support a year 5 pupil on a 1:1 basis. This is a long-term part-time contract with working hours consisting of 8:30am - 12:30pm and will last until the Christmas period. This position is subject to funding and may be extended.Your new roleAs a teaching assistant within this school, you will be supporting a pupil in year 5 on a 1:1 basis as they are currently going through the EHCP assessment process. You will act as this pupils' main point of contact throughout the school day, meeting them at the school gate and walking them back to their grown-up. This pupil does not present challenging behaviours but does struggle with engagement and focus during lessons. You will utilise a myriad of positive behaviour techniques to promote their engagement and build a strong constructive relationship. This pupil does also struggle with toileting and will require assistance.What you'll need to succeedTo be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as recent referenceable experience supporting SEN/complex needs, as well as:

  • Be able to commit to a long-term contract
  • Be comfortable with personal care
