About the Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide individualised support to students with diverse special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
- Assist the classroom teacher in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
- Develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) to meet each student's unique needs.
- Encourage and motivate students to participate actively in their learning.
- Use creative and adaptive strategies to ensure every child can access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support.
- Assist with classroom management and lesson preparation.
- Support students' social and emotional development.
- Help with personal care tasks, if required.
- Monitor and document student progress, providing feedback to the teaching staff and parents.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs.
- A caring, patient, and adaptable approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs (desirable but not essential).
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
