We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team and support children with a range of additional learning needs. If you are motivated to make a difference in the lives of young learners and have a strong understanding of special educational needs, we would love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with a range of special educational needs, including autism, learning disabilities, and social, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • Assist in the delivery of tailored lesson plans and interventions under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).
  • Support students in developing their independence and social skills within the classroom and school environment.
  • Help with the preparation of resources and activities that promote engagement and learning.
  • Maintain accurate records of students' progress and report concerns or achievements to the SENCO and class teacher.
  • Support students during break times and with personal care if required.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, ensuring all students feel valued and supported.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs, either in a school or a care setting.
  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting children with diverse needs.
  • A good understanding of child development and knowledge of a range of SEN, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and learning disabilities.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A proactive attitude to professional development and a willingness to attend relevant training and workshops.
  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent, is desirable, but not essential.
  • A DBS check will be required for the successful candidate.
