About Us:I am recruiting on behalf of a dedicated and nurturing Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Runcorn, providing a supportive and inclusive environment for children with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities. We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join our dynamic team.

The Role:As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with students on a one-to-one or small group basis, providing tailored support to help them engage with the curriculum and develop both academically and socially. You will play a crucial role in promoting a safe and supportive learning environment, assisting with personal care where required, and supporting the class teacher in managing classroom activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with a variety of SEN, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and physical disabilities.
• Assist students in accessing the curriculum and support their learning needs.
• Help manage challenging behavior and promote positive social skills.
• Support students with personal care tasks, if required.
• Monitor and record student progress and report any concerns to the class teacher or SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).
• Work collaboratively with other staff members to implement tailored individual learning plans (ILPs).
• Support in the preparation of classroom resources and activities.
• Assist in maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

What We Are Looking For:

• A genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
• Previous experience working with children in an educational setting, ideally with SEN experience (although training can be provided).
• A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to working with children.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to use initiative and work independently when needed.
• A commitment to the safety and well-being of children.
• Relevant qualifications (such as CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) are desirable, but not essential.
