Transport Planner

Runcorn, Cheshire

£35,000 - £40,000 + Bonus  

Friday – Monday, 08:00 – 18:00 (4-day week)

Situated in Runcorn, I am currently hiring an experienced Transport Planner to join a large organisation specialising in traction only and sub contraction of general haulage loads.  

They are in search of a skilled Transport Planner to enhance the existing transport operation, playing a key role in supporting the logistics function and providing customers with a seamless end-to-end solution for their transport needs.

The Candidate; 

  • Transport Planning experience for HGVs is essential
  • Previous experience with load sub contraction or a background within a transport clearance house is highly desirable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational abilities.
  • Good geographical knowledge.
  • Proven ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external colleagues.

Duties and Responsibilities; 

  • Oversee and manage traction shift operations.
  • Generate and update work orders within the transport management system.
  • Communicate with customers about load opportunities and provide regular updates.
  • Coordinate load opportunities with third-party haulage partners (subcontractors).
  • Align customer orders with transport plans for seamless execution.
  • Organize and address inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Support the onboarding process for new hauliers.
  • Contribute to new customer sales efforts.
