Their equipment has been used for a variety of high-profile projects worldwide, and due to their continued success, they are now looking for a new addition to their team.The day to day of this role will include complete project management cycles as well as the hand on design of steel structures and heavy lifting equipment. The successful candidate will have a direct progression route to become the lead engineer for this team.The ideal candidate will have hands on experience working on structural steel design projects, and looking for a leadership role that is still hands on. The ideal candidate will be able to understand complex calculations. Being a Chartered Engineer is advantageous but not essential.The Role:

  • Design of large steel structures / components used within the construction industry (using AutoCAD)
  • Finite element analysis and calculations
  • Working within a helping to lead / mentor a small technical team
  • Monday to Friday, office based role (may have a very occasional site visit)

The Person:

  • Structural Design Engineer
  • 10+ years' working experience within the structural steel industry
  • Must be able to do complex calculations
  • Experience using CAD (AutoCAD / Inventor preferably)
  • Leadership / management experience preferred
  • Any experience working with hydraulics is highly advantageous
