Job Title: Manufacturing Manager
Salary: Up to £55k + bonus
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing/ Warehouse Manager for our client specialising in manufacturing and distribution of heavy plant equipment for construction projects all over the globe.
Overseeing a team of 24 staff you will manage daily work schedules to ensure timely and accurate delivery of equipment, and that customer requirements are met. You will recommend, approve, and implement changes in procedures to improve the operational efficiency of the warehouse.
Responsibilities:
- Manages warehouse activities by monitoring productivity and daily work schedules of warehouse employees performing shipping, receiving, reconditioning and storage of company forms. Ensures warehouse workloads run at full capacity.
- Maintains oversight of equipment returns and ensures accuracy and compliance with return procedures. Conducts direct customer contacts for all damaged beyond repair and unreturned equipment issues to begin discrepancy resolution.
- Directs trucking and shipping operations. Conducts daily equipment reallocation as necessary to maximise lease pool utilization and minimize freight expense.
- Leads and directs administrative functions - develop and train new and current employees, employee reviews and development planning as well as assist in providing feedback regarding salary administration. Handles all disciplinary actions.
- Inspects materials produced to ensure quality. Determines spacing requirements for storage.
- Coordinates and reviews safety and environmental issues of the warehouse and office facilities. Ensures maintenance of equipment and a safe, clean environment.
- Performs other job-related duties and special projects.
Key Skills/Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years manufacturing and distribution management experience.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Sound commercial awareness and judgement.
- Mechanical aptitude with ability to complete basic mathematical calculations is essential
- Must work effectively under pressure, exercise good judgment, and be a good negotiator.
