The Group Property Director role creates shareholder value by both creating and delivering a profitable and innovative property strategy to enhance business performance and drive the growth of the Group. This is a fantastic opportunity to head this Group Property function and maintain an efficient, well managed estate that meets the needs of customers and colleagues.This role will lead a sizeable team focusing on:The existing Portfolio- both freehold and leasehold properties. This will include the facilities management and maintenance, rent reviews and day to day property management activities in amongst a whole host of other things. The incoming individual will need the capability to lead the team successfully through all these areas.As with all senior leadership roles, the incoming individual will also need to balance the dynamism andfluidity of the day-to-day operational landscape with the wider strategic priorities, namely developingthe long-term property strategy and all the influencing of the Executive Board that goes with its executionGrowing safely is also a fundamental part of the property programme. It is absolutely critical that, firstand foremost, employee and customer health, well being and safety is a front and centre considerationand that the business is protected too. Both of these things are a key part of the remit for this role.Finally, an intrinsic part of this evolving growth strategy is about driving it in conjunction with the CEO,CFO, MD's and Exec Board. An important part of this will be articulating the case for investing in newopportunities- credibility and influence sits at the heart of this to be able to pull the business into the longterm focus as we all as the here and now.Experience required:

  • Significant exposure and experience with complex property portfolios
  • Must have the intellect, commercial instinct and record of career achievement securing commercial
  • property deals
  • Experience of asserting a positive influence on the process through extensive networks
  • Extensive evidence of team leadership with vision/passion coupled with well-developed team
  • management and motivational skills
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships internally with operational and other functional colleagues to ensure that property is perceived as a value adding business partner
  • Operational understanding of the key strategic functions within property (Acquisitions, Estates,
  • FM and Construction)
  • A collaborative nature by default, capable of building relationships with senior stakeholder's and
  • also comfortable offering constructive challenge
  • Experience of leading / managing teams across multiple property functions.
