Learning Support Assistant (Primary School)

The Role:As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to provide targeted support for individual pupils and small groups. You will play a vital role in creating an engaging and inclusive environment, helping all children to access the curriculum and build their confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work one-to-one or with small groups of pupils to provide additional learning support.
  • Assist children with their individual learning plans, ensuring their needs are met.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and foster a love of learning.
  • Help prepare learning materials and classroom resources.
  • Provide feedback to teachers on pupil progress and areas for development.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate about supporting children's education and development.
  • Caring, patient, and understanding, with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Enthusiastic about working as part of a team in a primary school environment.
  • Willing to learn and develop their skills to support children effectively.

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Experience working with children in a school or similar setting.
  • Knowledge of supporting children with additional needs, including SEN.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as Level 2 or Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning.
