Special Education Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO)

Location:Wellingborough, UK

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Days : 4-5 days a week

Role Overview :

Dunbar Education, a top recruitment agency, is looking for dedicated Special Education Needs Co-ordinator who is passionate about being a leader and inspiring young pupils. You will report directly to the head teacher, take charge of SEN provision and coordinate tailored support for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, while also managing related paperwork and compliance responsibilities.Ensure SEN pupils receive high-quality, individualised support.

Requirements:

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service
  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children with behavioural challenges and different SEN needs
  • Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and the ability to lead the implementation of EHCPs.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication and organisational abilities

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee SEN provision in the school, ensuring all pupils receive essential support for their success.
  • Monitor pupils progress and adapt support strategies to optimise outcomes.
  • Develop tailored interventions for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD and related challenges.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff and parents to create and update Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Provide training and guidance on best practices for SEN to staff.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and maintain accurate records
