Job Title: Supply SEMH Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a resilient and compassionate Supply SEMH Teaching Assistant to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role involves working with students who present intense behavioural challenges, but you will be provided with fantastic support and training to help you succeed. Flexible working arrangements allow you to choose the days and placements that suit your availability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students with SEMH needs, providing one-to-one and small group assistance
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to create a safe and structured learning environment
  • Work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to meet individual student needs
  • Help students develop positive coping mechanisms and social skills
  • Maintain a calm and patient approach in challenging situations
Requirements:
  • Experience working with SEMH students or in a behavioural support role is highly desirable
  • Strong resilience, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • A willingness to undertake training and follow school behaviour policies
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
