The Role:

The school is looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Geography Teacher to deliver engaging and high-quality lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5. The successful candidate will inspire students to develop their understanding of physical and human geography, as well as key global issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging Geography lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Teach a range of topics, including physical geography, human geography, and environmental issues
  • Support and challenge students to reach their full potential, adapting teaching strategies as needed
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and targeted support
  • Contribute to the development of the Geography curriculum and department initiatives
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, such as geography clubs, field trips, or competitions
Essential Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant experience teaching Geography in a secondary school setting
  • Experience teaching across KS3, KS4, and KS5
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Geography
  • An up-to-date DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • A commitment to inspiring students and fostering a love for Geography
Desirable Skills & Experience:
  • Experience with GCSE and A-Level Geography delivery
  • Knowledge of different teaching strategies to engage a diverse range of learners
  • Familiarity with exam board specifications and assessment criteria
  • Ability to contribute to whole-school sustainability and global awareness initiatives
