Day-to-Day ResponsibilitiesTeaching and Learning
- Work closely with class teachers to raise learning and attainment levels across various subjects, with a particular focus on computing as PPA cover.
- Support pupils individually or in groups to ensure they can access the curriculum and participate fully in learning activities.
- Utilize effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a good and safe learning environment.
- Organize and manage teaching spaces and resources to maintain a stimulating educational setting.
- Supervise classes in the absence of the teacher and use ICT skills to advance pupils’ learning.
- Contribute to the planning and preparation of lessons and support the inclusion of all pupils.
Planning
- Assist in the assessment and planning process by monitoring, recording, and reporting pupil performance and progress.
- Prepare classrooms for lessons and plan structured activities that engage and motivate learners.
Collaboration and Communication
- Communicate effectively with staff, pupils, parents/carers, and other professionals.
- Develop professional relationships with colleagues and contribute to team meetings to enhance educational strategies and outcomes.
Health and Safety
- Promote the safety and wellbeing of pupils by adhering to safeguarding protocols and the school’s child protection policy.
Professional Development
- Engage in continuous professional development to keep skills and knowledge up-to-date and reflect on personal practice to improve effectiveness.
- Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar role, preferably with some responsibility.
- Strong understanding of school curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Commitment to professional development and learning.
