The Ickleton Lion is more than just a pubits a community hub. Set in a 300-year-old building at the heart of the village, this historic pub is undergoing an exciting refurbishment to create a vibrant, welcoming venue offering great food, drinks, and events. With a bar and eating area that accommodates 54 covers, plus a beautiful garden and patio featuring space for around twenty table benches, the pub provides a fantastic setting for locals and visitors alike. The outdoor space is lovingly maintained by an enthusiastic group of volunteers, adding to the community spirit.

Were looking for a dedicated and driven person (or couple) who will be responsible for developing a successful business with first class service and food, creating an exceptional customer experience and embracing the needs of the community
Experience in licensed trade, hospitality or community based business with a passion for food and charismatic customer facing skills
Key Responsibilities:- Create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for locals and visitors alike
- Driving sales and customer footfall
- Deliver high standards of food, drink, and customer service
- Develop and promote events that engage the community and visitors alike
- Manage the pubs day-to-day operations, including payroll, stock control, and compliance with food hygiene, allergen and H&S regulations
- Build and maintain relationships with the local community, local suppliers, and staff
- Lead and motivate a team, including volunteers fostering a fun, professional, and engaging work environment
- Chef/ catering background
- Cellar management experience and/ or qualification
- Experience in a busy, customer-facing role
- A passion for community and hospitality
- Strong leadership skills to build and manage a great team
- Ability to handle busy periods while maintaining high service standards
- Creativity and enthusiasm to drive the pubs growth and community engagement
- Proven track record in similar role
