Bioinformatician/Sr Bioinformatician

Join a leading biotech company specializing in microbiome profiling for drug discovery as a Bioinformatician with expertise in Development. This role offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of developing new classes of medicines focused on clinical outcomes. You will play a crucial role in shaping the informatics landscape of our company, pivotal in advancing ongoing clinical trials and partnerships in immuno-oncology.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Design and develop bioinformatics analysis tools and workflows tailored for genomic data.
  • Analyze large-scale biological datasets (metagenomics, transcriptomics, etc.) in association with clinical metadata, including data from our clinical trials.
  • Implement and manage production pipelines in a high-performance computing (HPC) or cloud environment, optimizing processes to meet industry standards.
  • Continuously evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies to enhance the capabilities of our bioinformatics platform.
  • Collaborate on multidisciplinary projects, ensuring robust informatics support for therapeutic discovery and development.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • PhD or Masters in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience with genomic data analysis within a cloud environment, preferably AWS.
  • Demonstrable experience in writing production-level software in Python or Go.
  • Experience in analyzing metagenomic/microbiome sequence data.
  • Experience with Cromwell, NExtflow or other bioinformatics workflow management systems.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively collaborate and present findings to diverse audiences.
