Your role as the supply teacher is to support learners and create a consistent learning environment for them whilst their usual teacher is away from the classroom; this means bringing your best self to work and being an adaptable, calming and attentive member of staff that children feel comfortable and safe around. You will be provided with planning so that you are able to deliver lessons effortlessly and provide your full attention to effectively supporting learners.

Your supply teaching responsibilities:

  • Mark and assess work completed in your lessons
  • Record lesson development
  • Guide and direct support staff
  • Build positive relationships with children, staff and parents
  • Follow planning to continue a coherent learning journey
  • Deliver lessons with enthusiasm to spark engagement and inspire young minds!

Requirements -

  • Relevant teaching qualifications (PGCE, QTS etc.)
  • Knowledge teaching relevant curriculum (EYFS, KS1, KS2)
  • Grade C or above (or relevant equivalent) in GCSE English and Maths
  • 2 references from the last 5 years
  • Experience teaching in a UK primary school
  • Job history that covers the last 10 years
  • An in-date Enhanced DBS on the update service
