Cover Supervisor

Start date: September 2024

We are actively recruiting for a Cover Supervisor to join a well-known high school in south Manchester. We are recruiting to these roles on a permanent basis, allowing you to develop relationships with pupils and staff to make a lasting impact. You will be offered ongoing training and development, flexibility in work pattern, ongoing investment in school facilities and technology, and generous pay and pension scheme.

Whilst experience is preferred, full training can be provided for the right candidate.

What does a Cover Supervisor do?

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the continuity of learning in the absence of regular teaching staff. You will be responsible for supervising classes, ensuring students remain engaged and on task, and managing classroom behaviour in accordance with school policies. You don't need to be a qualified teacher, although there are routes into qualified teacher status.

You need to be confident when working with a classroom of students, able to use your own initiative, and keep your cool in potentially stressful situations. You'll work as part of a team, ensuring appropriate information is shared, and ensuring safeguarding of all students.
