We are working with an international business, rich in history and well-established in their sector, to recruit a Financial Accountant on a permanent basis. Description

You will support the Group Financial Controller in managing the statutory reporting of the company including statutory accounts, external audit requirements, controlling the monthly and periodic Balance Sheet review process and assisting with the management of the Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) framework and tax compliance requirements.

  • Maintain information/data to support notes, narrative and disclosures required within the group and individual statutory accounts
  • Assist the Financial Controller to manage the group statutory audit process and production of all UK statutory accounts (for Salford based companies) as well as the year-end tax computation process in conjunction with the external auditors
  • Liaise with the external auditors to understand audit deliverables including, P&L, balance sheet and tax analysis and sample testing data to the agreed timetable
  • Liaise with the Finance Manager and Divisional Management Accountants to ensure audit deliverables are produced in the format required. Provide ad hoc analysis for reporting requirements in the statutory accounts that are not part of the monthly management accounts process (eg SECR).
  • Keep up to date with upcoming technical requirements and ensure that these are briefed out to the business and considered in advance of implementation
  • Review and approve Balance Sheet reconciliations prepared by the divisional and central accounting teams
  • Assist in and have an awareness of the Group Payment Arrangement and the operation of all tax controls in support of SAO requirements

Profile

  • Qualified ACA/ACCA Accountant from Practice
  • Proven ability to understand balance sheet structures and present appropriately
  • Experience of managing and delivering a clean audit to budget and timetable
  • Good communicator and influencing skills
  • Ideally, experience preparing group consolidated accounts including foreign subsidiaries and discontinuing operations
  • Quick learner, able to hit the ground running
  • Advanced Excel skills
