Our client is seeking a Financial Accountant for a fixed-term contract to cover a period of maternity leave up to 12 months.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in a wide variety of work, including assisting with year-end audits, preparing statutory accounts, and maintaining long-term strategic plans. You will also be involved in the preparation of UK and Irish VAT returns, liaising with tax advisors, and providing analysis for the review of Group Transfer Pricing Policy.

What you'll do:
As a Financial Accountant, your role will encompass a broad range of responsibilities. You will assist in preparing year-end statutory accounts, ensuring full compliance with FRS102. Your duties will also include preparing balance sheets and cashflows for monthly board packs, along with commentary on key movements in working capital and cashflow. You will prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC's Making Tax Digital requirements. Additionally, you will assist in updating the strategic plan as directed by the Financial Controller and prepare a rolling 12-month cashflow forecast for their review.
- Assist with preparation of year-end statutory accounts ensuring full compliance with FRS102.
- Prepare Balance Sheet and Cashflow for inclusion in the monthly board pack.
- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC's Making Tax Digital requirements.
- Assist with the update of the strategic plan as directed by the Financial Controller.
- Prepare the rolling 12 month cashflow forecast for review by the Financial Controller.
- Support Financial Controller with any ad hoc tasks.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Financial Accountant position is a (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or recognised equivalents) with experience in finance systems such as Sage 1000, SAP or similar. You possess advanced knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Your excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills make you effective at communicating with a wide range of people. You have strong analytical skills and take initiative in problem-solving. Your good planning and organisational skills enable you to prioritise effectively while being flexible in your approach.
