Your Role:

As a Senior Accountant at React Accountancy, you will play a pivotal role by managing a portfolio of clients for all matters Tax, VAT , Year Ends and leading a team of three staff members. You will provide expert financial services and advice, ensuring compliance and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Management:
  • Lead and mentor a team of three junior accountants.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of tasks by delegating effectively.
  • Client Portfolio Management:
  • Oversee a diverse portfolio of clients, offering comprehensive accounting services.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, and management reports. Year End accounts filings to HMRC and Companies House. VAT Returns. On Monthly deadlines
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to help clients achieve their business goals.
  • Tax and VAT Expertise:
  • Handle corporation tax computations, allowances, and property tax matters.
  • Manage VAT taxes with a focus on e-commerce sales tax knowledge desirable.
  • Produce and finalise all tax computation for clients.
  • Manage year-end accounts and VAT filings, ensuring month-end deadlines are met.
  • Financial Planning and Reporting:
  • Develop and analyze financial statements, including cash flow, profit and loss, and balance sheets.
  • Produce management accounts and reports using Xero, Quickbooks and spreadsheets.
  • Offer clients advisory services on tax and year-end matters via Zoom/Teams.
  • Quality Control and Workflow Management:
  • Oversee staff work, including VAT returns and year-end accounts.
  • Manage work flow and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Verify the accuracy of business accounts and address discrepancies.
  • Client Interaction and Onboarding:
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • On-boarding new client via our company referral scheme.
  • Handle client queries and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Conduct client meetings and onboarding via Zoom/Teams.
  • File clients' year-end accounts with Companies House and HMRC.
  • Digital Software:
  • Use Xero, QuickBooks, Taxfiler, and spreadsheets proficiently.
  • Manage digital client communication through Zoom/Teams, email, phone
  • Ensure all documentation, spreadsheets, and presentations are accurate and well-managed.

Requirements:

  • ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role in a accountancy practice.
  • Strong knowledge of tax and VAT, especially in e-commerce.
  • Proficient in Xero, QuickBooks, and Taxfiler.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
