Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Group Management Accountant to join their finance team in Salford. This is a hands-on role where the successful candidate will take ownership of key financial processes within their group structure, reporting directly to the CFO. As a service-led business, they are particularly interested in candidates with experience in service industry environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review monthly management accounts for multiple group entities
  • Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Oversee consolidation of group financial statements
  • Deliver insightful financial analysis and commentary to support business decisions
  • Maintain robust financial controls across the group
  • Support the annual audit process
  • Contribute to financial planning and forecasting activities
  • Manage and develop junior team members

Essential Requirements

  • Excellent proficiency with Sage Line 50
  • Demonstrable experience in a group accounting environment
  • Prior experience in a service-led business
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Hands-on approach and ability to work in a small, dynamic team
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders

Desirable Qualifications

  • Chartered accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Experience in preparing statutory accounts
  • Knowledge of tax compliance requirements for service businesses
