My client a leading Civil contractor is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to produce and oversee scheme designs, reports and documentation in accordance with specified briefs and in line with the time and budgetary allocations.

To carry out structural inspections and undertake and oversee structural assessments.

To assist in the overall delivery of the workload of the Structures team within the Design Solutions Structures office including feasibility reports and design checks.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the successful delivery of the programme of work by producing, developing and overseeing sound bridge design, assessment and maintenance solutions to meet client requirements within budget and timescale, following processes and procedures as well as any Client specific requirements.
  • Developing and designing solutions in accordance with National design standards, procedures and requirements and any specific parameters.
  • Production or overseeing of scheme documents and reports.
  • Contribute to compliance with the Quality Management Systems including site specific audits.
  • Production and overseeing of designs that comply with relevant health and safety legislation, particularly the CDM Regulations.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety requirements within the workplace, ensuring awareness of and compliance with general Health and Safety responsibilities as set out in the Health and Safety Management System.
  • Contribute to the regular reporting of progress to clients by communicating with line managers regarding their progress against planned programme
  • Assist in the mentoring and development of staff to grow organically and the development

Qualifications:

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng MICE, MIStructE or equivalent)
  • Experience in a similar role within Highways
  • Proven experience of bridge design standards and analysis
  • Previous experience of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges preferred but not essential.
  • Management and delivery of projects to programme and budget constraint
