Ylem- a Leading independent energy specialist- is looking to find an experienced H&S Manager to join its expanding team, based at its Salford headquarters. As the H&S Manager, you will support all employees across Ylem and be responsible for promoting a positive H&S culture through strong leadership, high levels of engagement and best practices.

Ylem Energy specialise in delivering a diverse range of energy projects, including front of the meter Gas Peaking, Energy Storage, Landfill Gas and Biogas Generation and Flare Systems along with 'Behind the meter' energy solutions, including Thermal Generation, BESS Energy Storage, Combined Heat & Power systems, Solar/PV arrays, Electric Vehicle Chargers and more.

Description

The H&S Manager needs to have a direct hands-on approach in the day to day, and be confident in delivering training and implementing safety requirements across multiple sites/projects.

Detailed Responsibilities:

You will ensure legal compliance for health and safety in the workplace by conducting regular audits and inspections

You will lead in training and development with new and existing members of staff

At all times, you must promote our proactive "Zero Harm" culture across departments

Responsible for ensuring incident investigations are conducted promptly, including root cause analysis and corrective action is undertaken

Creation, implementation and review of Risk Assessments, safe working procedures and method statements

Delivery of the company Health and Safety strategy and initiation for the site/s

Review all existing company Health & Safety documentation and update accordingly in line with our statutory obligations including CDM Regulations

Ensure that all "assessments" as required by legislation are conducted and reviewed at relevant intervals

Visit each Project site and during that visit, you will conduct regular health and safety inspections/audits and prepare detailed H&S audit reports

Review of all RAMS and COSHH assessments and update where necessary

You will carry out investigations into all accidents and near-miss incidents and record the findings on the relevant forms

Profile

A successful candidate will have:

Demonstrable experience within a project development, construction and operational environment

A clear understanding and experience of design phase risk assessment and HAZOP

Experience of interacting with sub suppliers and contractors and ensuring their compliance with H&S requirements of Ylem Energy as Client, Main Contractor

Their NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Strong communication skills

Demonstrable experience, skills and qualifications related to H&S requirements associated with an electrical high voltage environment

Job Offer

Salary is negotiable - 48k - 55k plus car allowance (5.7k)
