Hays Education are seeking a local ASD Specialist Teaching Assistant in a secondary SEN School in Salford for long-term cover. The school believes in supporting its students in preparing for adulthood and has a fantastic offering to support the students with this.

Your new role

We are currently recruiting for a full-time ASD Teaching Assistant to join the team ASAP on a temporary - permanent basis. We are looking for exceptional people to work with exceptional pupils who have a range of additional needs. We are seeking people who thrive on working in a challenging but immensely rewarding environment, who are passionate about supporting the development of social, life and independence skills and who truly want to make a difference in the lives of young people. The appointed person will be expected to have a real and positive impact on the lives of children who have a range of care needs, life experiences and personalities that make every day varied and interesting. You will be able to successfully build trusting student relationships and motivate and encourage student(s) as required by providing levels of individual attention, reassurance and help with living and learning tasks as appropriate.

What you'll need to succeed

The appointed candidates will have a minimum of 1 year's experience working with children and young people with PMLD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs or Autism Spectrum Conditions.A full UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle is desirable.DBS (or be willing to obtain one through Hays).What you'll get in return
