As a Risk Manager, you will develop your own objectives, but we are looking for you to focus on the following and more:
- Consistent implementation and embedding of the Group Risk Management Framework within functional areas of the business.
- Co-ordinate and facilitate engaging risk conversations through quarterly risk and control assessments, providing adequate support, oversight & challenge.
- Support SMF Managers and Risk Owners to assess the effectiveness of their control environments and associated action plans to address areas of weaknesses.
- Prepare, draft and collate papers for quarterly Group and Division risk meetings, challenging the information as necessary to ensure accurate and consistent messaging.
- Develop and deliver appropriate training across the business, promoting a strong culture of risk awareness and knowledge.
- Undertake root cause, gap analysis and deep dives, providing insights to the business identifying areas of improvements or opportunities.
Must Have:
- Experience in a risk focused role in Financial Services
- Comprehensive understanding of risk frameworks, methodologies and practices.
- Relevant qualification or business partnering experience.
- Effective at working autonomously and to tight deadlines.
Desirable
- Insurance / Broking background
- Excellent communicator (verbal & written) with an eye for detail.
- Analytic and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint & Word)
- Can commute to the Manchester office (1-2 days a week)
