Freight Forwarding Operator
Location: Salford, Manchester
Job Type: Full Time (Mon-Fri) - Hybrid Working
Salary: Up to 30,000 (DOE)
From You:
- Previous experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or shipping is preferred.
- Strong understanding of international shipping procedures and regulations.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to solve problems effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with logistics software is a plus.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate international shipments and ensure timely delivery across air, sea, and land transport modes.
- Prepare and process necessary documentation including bills of lading, import/export declarations, and customs paperwork.
- Liaise with suppliers, clients, and third-party vendors to manage the flow of goods.
- Track and monitor shipments, providing customers with updates and resolving any issues that arise.
- Ensure compliance with all import/export regulations, including customs laws and safety standards.
- Manage and update shipment schedules, optimize routes, and recommend cost-effective shipping solutions.
- Handle customer inquiries and provide excellent customer service throughout the shipping process.
