Shift Pattern/Hours: Mon – Fri, 8am – 5pm
My client is a main Design & Build contractor based in Manchester that has rapidly grown over the last few years to offer a mixture of services to their clients including Full Refurbishments and Fitout Packages on newbuild projects. They specialise in large scale internal residential projects on Student Accommodation, Hotels & Apartments
Overview:
They are currently looking for an experienced Estimator 5+ years’ experience working for a Fitout/Refurb Contractor. Ideally you will have experience in cost planning, pricing, and preparing procurement packs for tender. You will also be able to challenge the pre-construction and design teams when necessary and liaise effectively with the Quantity Surveyors. In the medium to long term this role offers an opportunity for growth, with the potential to oversee a Junior Estimator in the future.
Responsibilities:
•   Cost Planning and Pricing: Prepare accurate cost plans and pricing for Design & Build projects, ensuring competitiveness and profitability.
•   Procurement Preparation: Take ownership of procurement packs, getting them ready for tender.
•   Team Collaboration: Challenge the pre-construction and design teams to ensure the best outcomes for the project.
•   Liaison with Quantity Surveyors: Understand and communicate effectively with QSs to ensure accurate and comprehensive project costing.
•   Project Involvement: Be involved throughout the design process (up to 8 weeks) and manage the project from start to finish over a two-week period.
•   Site Visits: Conduct site visits as required to gather information and ensure project requirements are met.
Must Have:
•   Proven Experience as an Estimator in the Construction Industry
•   Structured Career History
•   Ability to travel when needed to sites across the Northwest
•   Ability to reach & work from the Salford Office
