We are looking for an experienced HR Manager to provide maternity cover and oversee the People & Culture department for a period of 18 months. This is an office based role located at the Head Office in Salford with site visits when required.

The ideal candidate will possess strong HR generalist skills and be familiar with the construction and house building sector. This role requires a proactive individual who can effectively manage HR functions within standalone position, supporting approximately 75 employees within a family run business and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organisation. The HR Manager will play a critical role in influencing our workplace culture and supporting employees through change and adhering to company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the People & Culture department, ensuring efficient processes and compliance with policies.
  • Manage recruitment requirements for the organisation including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, inductions and onboarding
  • Liaise with recruitment agencies and social housing clients around vacancies and manage temporary labour requests
  • Provide guidance and support to line managers surrounding performance management, onboarding, reviews, employee relations and change management
  • Conduct monthly data analysis on employee retention and turnover
  • Complete HR administrative tasks such as holiday requests, absences, return to work meetings, reports, contracts of employment and social value updates
  • Communicate effectively across a wide range of topics to establish and maintain good working relationships across all levels of the organisation

To be considered for this role you should have:

  • Minimum CIPD Level 5
  • Proven experience in a standalone HR generalist role preferably within Construction Sector
  • Experience in end to end recruitment documentation and communications
  • Proficient with social media, CV databases, and professional networks
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Comfortable using Outlook, Word, Excel, HRIS and LMS systems
  • Proficient in documenting processes
  • A solid understanding of employment law and best practices in human resources management.
  • Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organisation while fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Able to drive to sites located across the Northwest, UK

There will be a two stage interview process for the role consisting of an informal telephone interview and a face to face interview. Face to face interviews are planned to take place between 28th October and 8th November. An immediate start is available with a handover period for training and company familiarisation.
