I am seeking a proactive and skilled IT Technician to join my clients IT support team. The IT Technician will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the school's IT infrastructure, ensuring that staff and students have access to reliable and efficient technology. This role involves providing technical assistance, troubleshooting IT issues, and supporting the deployment of new systems and applications in an educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day IT support to staff and students, ensuring minimal disruption to learning and administrative activities.
  • Maintain and manage the school's IT infrastructure, including computers, servers, printers, projectors, interactive whiteboards, and other educational technology.
  • Support the administration of the school's network, ensuring connectivity, security, and optimal performance.
  • Install, configure, and update software applications and operating systems across school devices.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights within Active Directory and other school IT systems.
  • Assist in maintaining data security, ensuring compliance with GDPR and school policies.
  • Support the use of learning management systems (LMS), online educational platforms, and classroom technologies.
  • Provide training and technical guidance to staff and students on IT best practices and cybersecurity awareness.
  • Assist with IT projects, including system upgrades, new software implementations, and network improvements.
  • Ensure IT policies and procedures are followed to maintain a secure and effective IT environment.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience in an IT support or technician role, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, and commonly used educational software.
  • Understanding of networking principles (Wi-Fi, LAN, switches, routers) and IT security best practices.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and user account management.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to assist non-technical users.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to IT support.
