A respected law firm in Manchester is seeking a Criminal Defence Solicitor to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced solicitor with a strong background in motoring law and criminal defence, looking to work in a dynamic and supportive environment.

As a Criminal Defence Solicitor, you will manage your own caseload, focusing on motoring offences and providing expert legal representation. The successful candidate will be a Qualified Solicitor with experience in a client-facing role and a track record of running their own caseload.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a varied caseload of motoring law cases, including both guilty and not guilty pleas.
  • Provide expert legal advice and representation to clients, ensuring a high level of client care.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, adapting to daily tasks and managing multiple cases under pressure.
  • Support out-of-hours issues on a rotational basis (telephone support only), covering one evening per week (5-8 pm) or one weekend day/evening (10 am-7 pm).
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years’ PQE as a Qualified Solicitor, with a focus on criminal defence and motoring offences.
  • Proven ability to manage a busy caseload independently in a high-pressure setting.
  • Excellent client-facing skills, with a professional and approachable manner.
  • Flexibility to cover out-of-hours support on a rotational basis.
  • at least 1 year’s experience in motoring law, with the ability to handle both guilty and not guilty pleas.
