- Managing a complex caseload of Property and Affairs Deputyship matters, supported by Case Workers and junior fee earners.
- Supervising, mentoring, and developing trainee solicitors, paralegals, and junior team members.
- Handling high-value Court of Protection applications, including contested matters and financial abuse investigations.
- Providing specialist legal advice to lay deputies and attorneys on complex issues.
- Regular client engagement, working closely with families, case managers, and support professionals.
- Clear progression path, with potential to step into a directorial role.
- 5+ years’ experience in Court of Protection matters, either in a dedicated role or as part of a mixed Private Client/Court of Protection caseload.
- Strong track record in professional deputyship work, particularly with high-value and complex cases.
- Experience handling contested Court of Protection matters, including court applications and working with counsel.
- In-depth knowledge of LPAs, lay deputyship applications, financial abuse investigations, and welfare issues affecting Protected Parties.
- Understanding of care funding, including local authority and NHS provisions.
- Strong leadership, case management, and client-care skills.
