Key Responsibilities of the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Preventative Maintenance:

  • Conduct regular inspections and servicing of machinery to prevent breakdowns and secure optimum performance.
  • Update and keep accurate maintenance records.

Reactive Maintenance:

  • Respond promptly to any machinery breakdowns, diagnosing faults and conducting repairs to minimise downtime.
  • Communicate effectively with the operations team to coordinate maintenance activities.

Improvement Initiatives:

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to augment equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments in project work aimed at optimising operational processes.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by abiding by the industry best practices and standards in maintenance operations.

Technical Support:

  • Provide technical support and training to other team members as needed.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.

Key Requirements & Qualifications of the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

  • A degree in an engineering field or a recognised engineering qualification (HND/HNC/BTEC or equivalent) in a pertinent field.

OR

  • Apprentice trained in a similar position ideally with Electrical qualifications (C&G 2320 P1 & P2, ONC, NVQ 3 or equivalent)

AND

  • Proven experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of CAD software is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of PLC systems and other control systems is advantageous.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Awareness of Health and Safety Regulations

Working Hours:

  • This role necessitates flexibility to cover a shift pattern spanning 24 hours
    • Morning: 6am 2pm
    • Afternoon: 2pm 10pm
    • Night: 10pm 6am
  • Availability at weekends, and public holidays.
