R9 Recruitment is delighted to announce an exceptional opportunity to join a respected Heating Contractor Client as a Heat Pump Service Engineer. With two positions available, based in the Manchester area, these roles form a crucial part of a dedicated Team within an expanding renewable energy business.
Position Details
Job Title: Heat Pump Service Engineer (2 positions)
Reports to: Regional Technical Manager
Location: Manchester
Competitive Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 per annum (Dependent on experience)

Responsibilities:
As part of a skilled team, the Heat Pump Service Engineer will:
- Carry out fault diagnostics and repairs for first-time fixes.
- Attend client sites to perform precise fault-finding and service tasks.
- Provide technical support to team engineers.
- Prepare detailed reports for clients and the Regional Technical Manager.
Suitable candidates must have the following:
- A full UK driving licence
- Minimum of two years experience as a Heat Pump Service Engineer
Qualifications including:
- City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in at least one of the following:
Heating & Ventilation
Plumbing & heating
Air conditioning & refrigeration
- FGAS & ODS Regulations (C&G 2079) CAT 1
- G3 unvented cylinders certified
Experience with servicing and repairing of gas heating systems would also be an advantage and the qualifications listed below:
CCN1, CKR, HTR1, CENWAT, CEN1 and CPA1 Preferred but NOT essential
Essential competencies:
- Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements and Electrical Safe Systems of Work.
- Familiarity with health and safety legislation, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Computer literacy and flexibility to support business needs.
An enhanced DBS check will be conducted for successful candidates.
