Approach Personnel are proud to be working with an affordable housing developer who are seeking a Construction Materials Buyer to join them in their Salford office.
This role is perfect for someone who has been working in procurement for a couple of years and is looking for their next step.
Day to Day:
- Identifying new supply chain opportunities and interviewing potential new suppliers
- Procuring and collating quotations and information in line with project budgets and quality standards from potential new suppliers
- Authorising plant and tool hire from approved suppliers
- Authorising materials purchases with approved suppliers
- Actioning site requests for materials upon approval
- Liaising with the site team and commercial team to ensure all orders are in line with budgets and costing
- Ensuring materials are in line with quality and health and safety standards
- Reporting damages or delays to orders and pursuing compensation
- Resolving disputed invoices or accounts
- Managing the traceability of materials, hired tools and hired plant across sites
About You
Essential:
- Proven experience in a buying role within the housebuilding sector
- Proficient with Microsoft office suite, especially Excel
- Change Management knowledge and experience
Desirable:
- Knowledge of the COINS system
- CIPS Level 4 in Procurement and Supply Chain
- A qualification in Procurement or Supply Chain
