We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Children's Residential Support Worker to join our team in Salford, supporting young people aged 16 and 17 in a positive and supportive environment.

About the Role:

As a Senior Children's Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in the daily running of our residential home. You’ll be responsible for leading shifts, delegating tasks, and ensuring the home runs smoothly in the absence of the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager. This role involves a mix of direct support for young people, administrative tasks, and team leadership.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading and running shifts to ensure high-quality care and support.

  • Completing and overseeing the administrative and paperwork aspects of the role, including care plans, keyworking, and rota planning.

  • Promoting a positive and engaging culture within the team and encouraging collaboration.
  • Setting tasks, delegating responsibilities, and supporting the development of other team members.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience in a residential care setting, with a focus on supporting children or young people.
  • Experience with paperwork, administration, and the ability to lead a team is essential.
  • Understanding of keyworking and ability to manage the home in the absence of senior management.
  • Mental health experience is desirable but not essential.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to drive is desirable but not required.
  • We are open to candidates from related industries who have the right skills and passion for the role.
What We Offer:
  • £13.50 per hour + £55 per sleep-in shift.
  • A supportive and inclusive working environment with a diverse staff team.
  • Opportunities for progression within the role as the team continues to develop.
  • Regular team-building activities and days out with young people.
  • A chance to make a real impact on the lives of young people in a nurturing, positive setting.
About Us:

Our home is a full residential setting for three young people aged 16 and 17 who are in full-time education and are developing their independence. You'll join a dedicated team of 10 staff members and 2 bank staff, plus the manager, all working together to provide the best support possible.

We have a positive, collaborative culture where everyone pitches in, creating a nurturing environment for both the young people and our team. We’ve been searching for the right person since March, and now we’re opening up this opportunity to find the perfect fit to lead our dedicated team.

Shift Pattern:
  • Early Shift: 7:30 am - 2:30 pm
  • Late Shift: 2:00 pm - 9:00 pm
  • Flexibility to cover shifts including weekends (2 weekends off per month)
  • At least 2 days off per week, sometimes 3 days

If you’re ready to make a difference and lead a team in a rewarding environment in Salford, we’d love to hear from you! This is a great opportunity to grow within a team that values positivity, diversity, and personal development.
