Special Needs Teaching Assistant

Full Time Position 30 hours per week

Working days and hours- Monday to Friday (08:30am - 15:30pm)

A Primary School based in Salford are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Reception on a 1:1 basis. Some of the children have an Education Health Care Plan so experience working with this is desirable but not essential. They occasionally have challenging behaviour but mostly need support on an academic level.

We would like you to have:

Essential

  • A natural aptitude to work with children;
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in 'Childcare' or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools' (equivalent qualifications accepted);
  • An additional relevant SEN qualification;
  • An understanding of Keeping Children Safe in Education and their responsibilities for Safeguarding;
  • A secure knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.
