Key Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for developing and managing the sourcing strategy for designated categories. This is a key transformational role that involves partnering with the business to understand its needs and establish a forward-thinking category management framework. The role aims to deliver engineering excellence while enhancing the experience for customers, colleagues, and supply chain partners, and benefiting the communities in which the business operates within.

Create, own, and manage comprehensive category plans through strategic planning. These plans will ensure a resilient supply chain focused on performance metrics, risk management, operational excellence, and value for money.

Develop and implement category strategies that align with business objectives and customer needs.

Analyse spend data and supply chain/market intelligence to drive informed decision-making.

Lead cross-functional project teams and collaborate with key stakeholders during the tendering process for assigned categories.

Identify, evaluate, select, and manage new suppliers through a rigorous vetting process, ensuring continuous performance monitoring, contract reviews, and benchmarking.

Integrate ISO 20400 Sustainable Procurement standards into all procurement activities to ensure compliance and support the companys sustainability goals.

Collaborate with the Head of Strategic Sourcing and the Supply Chain Management team to positively promote the teams work, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy.

Key Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications:
Prior experience in category management, ideally within FM services and or Construction.

In-depth knowledge of developing and implementing category strategies, strategic sourcing, and framework agreements.

Familiarity with sustainable procurement practices and principles is essential.

A forward-thinking mindset, not afraid to challenge the status quo, with a strong focus on driving continuous improvement and finding creative solutions.

Proven experience in engaging and influencing stakeholders, building strong relationships across different levels of the business.

Strong presentation skills, with the ability to communicate and influence effectively in both formal and informal settings.

MCIPS qualified would be a strong advantage.
