REED Accountancy and Finance are exclusively recruiting for a Qualified Financial Controller for a Fixed Term (12 month) contract. Our client is a medium sized £13 million T/O manufacturing company, who are market leaders in their field and based in Salisbury.
Financial Controller (FTC / 12 months) / Duration 1st April to end March 2026
Fixed term contract to 31 March 2026
Salary: £55,000 to £65,000 per annum, dependent on experience
36.5 hours per week - 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30 to 4.00pm on Friday (hour lunch)
The Department
The accounts department consists of three members of staff including the financial controller. The accounting software is Sage Intacct and financial information is produced via this system and through a variety of Excel spreadsheets.
Responsibilities
The Financial Controller is responsible for the day-to-day control and running of the accounts department
The main duties include:
- supervision of the accounts department team and control of the ledgers
- control of cash flow
- preparation of monthly, consolidated management accounts
- preparation of year- end accounts and liaison with the auditors
- preparation of budgets
- preparation of monthly payroll data for the payroll provider
- Liaison with outsourced IT provider
- VAT returns and other statutory reporting
- ad hoc projects and reporting for the Directors
Requirements
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a minimum of two years post- qualification experience and have experience of working in a similar environment.
- Good interpersonal and analytical skills, be self -motivating, have good time management skills and be able to demonstrate an organised and systematic in approach.
- Knowledge of the Company’s particular niche in the market is not necessary but familiarity with manufacturing processes will be an advantage, though not essential.
