A busy education trust in Salisbury are seeking a motivated People Services Manager to join their team.
Based: Salisbury
Hybrid: 2 home 3 from office
Salary: £38,500 - £42,500 PA
Full time: 37 hrs per week
Responsibilities:
You will work closely with the Head of People Services and the People Services Team and to hold overall responsibility for the People Services Function. To be responsible for advising, coaching, and influencing Headteachers/Heads of Service and leaders across the Trust to ensure consistent application of the Trusts policies and people management practices.
Line management responsibilities:
Directly line manage at least one People Services Advisor (PSA) who will have accountability for designated Education Provisions/Services (EPs)
Ensure accurate and timely team appraisals are completed with each team member and identify any training needs within the team.
Advise on and implement People policies effectively with the PSAs, who ensure this is embedded in their EPs.
Communication, Responsibilities & Working Relationships:
Be the first point of escalation for the PSAs and support them to:
o Provide consistent advice on sensitive issues and complex cases.
o Advise and support managers in the preparation of case information for presentation at disciplinary, grievance, capability, and attendance hearings.
o Process contract amendments in accordance with statutory and organisational timescales.
To be successful in this role you will need:
Full driving license and own transport
Qualified to CIPD level 5 or above (or equivalent experience), or willing to work towards
Demonstrable breadth of Generalist HR experience in ER, employee engagement, change management, codes of practice, legislation, and project management.
Experience of coaching and supporting managers across the full HR discipline.
Experience working and consulting with Trade Unions to achieve positive outcomes.
Experience leading and developing a team.
