IT Infrastructure Engineer

Morson Talent are currently looking to recruit a IT Infrastructure Engineer to be based onsite at Rollestone, Shrewton, Wiltshire. This is a permanent position.

Third Line Support Manager

JOB PURPOSE
The primary role will be to provide support to a critical UK wide security virtualised infrastructure You will be directly contributing to maintaining the serviceability of the current equipment and also introducing new, state of the art equipment into the infrastructure.

MAIN ACTIVITIES AND TASKS – Where qualified
• The role will also involve designing and implementing upgrades and enhancements to the infrastructure solution in response to customer Change Requests.
• Carry out desk-based configuration activity, and some physical server related interfacing in the hardware facility at Rollestone.
• Working closely with the key teams involved in providing this service, including the Field Service team, the Component Repair Facility team, and the Remote Resolution Centre team.
• Engage with I.T provider stakeholders who play a fundamental role in the build and maintenance of the systems used.
• Work closely with the onsite customer test team.
• Develop and maintain build processes and documentation to ensure that all activity/tasks are carried out in accordance with predefined requirements.
• Carry out and understand tasks relating to project specific equipment within the I.T infrastructure.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Windows Skills
• Windows 2012R2 / Windows 2016 Management and support skills.
• Windows Failover Cluster Administration.
• Microsoft Domain Management and Troubleshooting.
• Cisco ASA Firewall and Network Switches.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work under broad direction, with minimal supervision, in challenging technical environments.
• Ability to work as part of a team.

It would be beneficial having some experience with all or some of the following:
• Familiar with HPE Network Switches
• Familiar with HPE DL 380 Series server build and configuration
• Familiar with iSCSI SAN Storage in Windows Failover Clusters
• Familiar with SCCM and the deployment of patches and software packages
• Familiar with SCOM 2016
• Familiar with SCCM Build 1906 or newer
• Familiar with Microsoft PKI
• Familiarity with PowerShell. Writing and maintaining existing PowerShell based deployment process, including Git source control.

Rollestone office will be the base location, however, the ability to travel is a requirement due to the occasional need to visit and carry out tasks at a customer site . Client projects can at times require you to work away from home during the week (Mon-Fri). Remote flexible working maybe offered when initial training is completed, and the task you are currently working on can be carried out from home.
The hours for this role involve a standard working week, with occasional overtime as required.

There is a requirement to be able to gain full Security Clearance.
