Housekeeper / Cook Live In

We are seeking a friendly, outgoing and confident Live-in Housekeeper/Cook for a single female Principal residing in a five-bedroom property with additional barn outbuildings in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, near Salisbury in Wiltshire. The Principal is in residence on the weekends.

This is a full-time position with primary responsibilities including housekeeping, cooking and taking care of the family's two dogs. The successful applicant will join an informal household with a small, friendly team of staff, including a PA/Estate Manager couple and a part-time Gardener.

Responsibilities of the Live-in Housekeeper/Cook near Salisbury include:

Housekeeping:

• Perform all standard housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, ironing, and making beds
• Regular deep cleaning of all rooms, including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, living areas, and any other common spaces
• Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and fittings, ensuring all surfaces are kept clean and tidy
• Vacuum and mop floors, ensuring all carpets, rugs, and hard floors are well-maintained
• Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces regularly to maintain a pristine appearance
• Empty bins and ensure proper waste disposal, recycling where appropriate
• Occasional cleaning of a shepherd's hut, used infrequently for guests

Cooking:

• Weekend cooking, including for occasional guests, with a focus on healthy salads and vegetables, making use of the on-site vegetable garden
• Confidently prepare Ottolenghi-style recipes
• Provide a weekly shopping list for the PA to complete the online grocery shop
• Set up and prepare breakfasts for the children when they are in residence (occasional weekends
  and school holidays), ensuring the kitchen is tidied afterwards

Pet Care:

• Feed the dogs and occasionally walk them
• Comfortable working around animals, including dogs, chickens, goats, sheep, and a pig

• Own car with a full driving licence
• Physically fit and active to manage the physical demands of the role
• A confident cook
• Comfortable working around animals
• Effective time management and the ability work as a team player with other staff members

A newly renovated, fully furnished 1-bedroom cottage on the estate, all bills included. No dependants.

The client is also open to considering local live-out Housekeepers.

Full time. Thursday to Monday, with Tuesday and Wednesday as days off.

Flexibility with working days when the Principal is not in residence. Hours are flexible and may vary depending on the Principal's needs.

Salisbury, Wiltshire.

£40,000 per annum + accommodation.
