We are seeking a Headteacher for a new SEN school in Amesbury, opening June 2025. This role is ideal for a senior leader looking to advance to a Headteacher position, responsible for building and leading a team and shaping the school’s future. Candidates should have extensive experience with pupils with complex needs and a passion for innovative education. Day-to-day of the role:
  • Promote and implement high-quality, creative learning strategies that meet the educational needs of all pupils, maximising their achievement.
  • Ensure the school environment is safe and conducive to learning, protecting the welfare of pupils and staff.
  • Comply with all statutory requirements from DfE, Ofsted, and other bodies, aiming for the highest inspection ratings.
  • Lead a motivated staff team committed to achieving excellence in all areas of school life and continuous personal and professional development.
  • Manage the commercial aspects of the school, including maintaining 100% occupancy, managing costs effectively, and implementing growth plans.
  • Engage in effective strategic and operational planning, including self-evaluation and school improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and communicate a shared vision that aligns with the overall strategy of the Group, inspiring students, staff, and the school community.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • At least three years’ experience as a senior leader in a specialist school for pupils with complex communication needs.
  • Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to provide a clear vision and direction.
  • Understanding of the comprehensive management and leadership processes that impact pupil outcomes, staff motivation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Willingness to extend personal and professional development.
Desirable:
  • Completion of NPQH.
  • Experience in conducting performance management.
  • Proven track record in staff recruitment, management, and induction.
  • Experience in planning and implementing a curriculum across various ages and abilities.
