- Setting up new support services, meeting with service users and developing transition plans tailored to their needs, whilst also creating person-centred support plans, policies and risk assessments; as well as supporting changes to plans when a service users' needs or wants change
- Implementing rotas for services, keeping a clear oversight on approving annual leave and seeking cover for sickness
- Addressing complaints and grievances in a professional manner, ensuring that investigations are conducted in line with policies, implementing disciplinary procedures as required and providing full updates on cases
- Line managing a team of support staff, including booking in supervisions and meetings with staff, identifying training needs and supporting the facilitation of training opportunities, and additionally coordinating the recruitment and induction of new members of the team
- Overseeing ongoing services and flagging with senior operational leaders when difficulties with services occur, and ensuring that actions are taken to resolve problems
- Ensuring the team is utilising the correct systems and resources to complete their tasks, making sure that resources are used in accordance with policies
- Making sure that supplies of resources such as equipment and PPE are kept up to date and stock levels are enough to cover the growing needs of the staff
- Supporting the undertaking of service checks, medication audits and health and safety assessments, ensuring actions are taken within clear timeframes and that all service users are safeguarded and are able to raise issues through appropriate channels
- When needed, handling the financial management of service users’ budgets, expenses and personal money, as required and explicitly appropriate
- Hold a valid UK driving license
- 5+ years in Health & Social Care, with 2 years in a leadership or management role
- Experience of transitioning care packages and setting up new packages
- Possess a NVQ 3 and preferably a NVQ 4 (although this is desirable)
- Experience working with people with learning difficulties, mental health diagnoses and autism
- Excellent documentation skills including updating paperwork, care plans, MCA and BI's, risk assessments and any other relevant documents
- Strong communication skills
