IntSol Recruitment are seeking a dedicated and responsible School Transport Driver to join the leading healthcare specialist transport provider, providing vital support to children with special educational needs. This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about ensuring the safety and well-being of children during their school journeys.
Position Details:
- Minimum Weekly Hours: 20 hours (part-time).
- Shift Patterns: Split shifts, typically:
- Morning Shift: 07:00 - 09:00.
- Afternoon Shift: 14:00 - 17:00.
- Working Days: Monday to Friday, term time only.
Pay Rates:
PAYE Rates: £11.44 per hour PAYE & Rolled Up Holiday Pay: £12.83 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport children with special educational needs to and from their educational institutions using company vehicles.
- Assist children with boarding and exiting the vehicle, providing physical support when required.
- Ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of children throughout the journey.
- Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and school staff regarding transport arrangements.
- Monitor the children’s welfare during transit and adhere to safeguarding policies.
- Promptly report any concerns, incidents, or vehicle issues to the Line Manager or Operations Manager.
- Drive responsibly and courteously, following all traffic laws and company regulations.
Requirements:
- Hold a valid UK driving licence.
- Enhanced DBS required before starting (mandatory).
- Previous experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs, is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with children, parents, and staff.
- A patient, empathetic, and professional approach to handling diverse needs.
